sounds cheap but if you dont have thick hair then its great!! even my friend who usualyl uses a CHI straightener had luck when she used mine ;) it heats up in about 1-2 minutes(although it says 30 seconds I usually wait a little longer) and has 25 heat settings (I only need like 10-15). like always be sure to use a heat defense spray. I like VO5 but if im gonna blow dry my hair too then I LOVE Got2be Crazy Sleek hair spray(you can get it at some supermarkets, walmart, hair salons, etc.) It smells awesome! and leaves your hair SOOOO soft!! but you need to use it then blowdry before you straighten =) good luck! What is THE BEST straightener that won't cost me a fortune???!!!?

you can get a ghd mk3 for 100 and thats a really good iron
I heard solia is really good too and its like $80 at folica.com
The best one is the one that works. That means, it is made well enough, and the most important thing is that you know how to use it. Most people don't. No matter how ';good'; something is, or how much you paid for it, you can still make a mess of your hair if you use it incorrectly. Then that is not a good thing.
It's not the fault of the tool -- the most important part of any tool is the nut holding it.
the chi straighteners are really good, but expensive, a little more than 100 for one. conair is good, i got a conair one for 30 bucks and it does the job well. ive had it for about a year, used it everyday, and it still works good.
