In your opinon, are GHDs the best straighteners?

And why?In your opinon, are GHDs the best straighteners?
Pretty much; I have some and they straighten my tight ringleted hair with one sweep, two for poker straight. I have owned 2 other straighteners- one remington and one babyliss and GHDs beat both hand's down.

But why?

People say it's because the plates are ceramic, but ALL straighteners have ceramic plates so that's not the whole reason. I think it's more to do with the way the plates are made and designed- they are extremely smooth and just glide over your hair, unlike my previous straighteners which snagged my hair. I asked my hairdresser and she mentioned the plates too- that's from a professional.

It's not the heat either, as GHDs are no hotter than others (I've heard people say temperatures from 180-230 degrees and don't know which is true) which is good as more heat often = more damage. Also the plates apparently have a good heat balance with no hot spots, so the middle is no hotter than the outer plate which maybe explains why you only have to run it through your hair once- it all gets covered.

I've heard people say CHIs are as good, or better, and these are really the top 2.

Yes there is a lot of hype about GHDs and people buy them for the brand, but they only started off as a small company and the only reason they are now huge is because of the product no one seems to be able to live up to (except CHI possibly). In your opinon, are GHDs the best straighteners?
yes because they heat up really quickly and u only have to put them through your hair once to straighten it and they dont dry your hair out
No, I personally think Sedu is the best. I don't really know why, but that's what I think. I think it's because of how it left my hair (healthy). =)

get a chi!!!! i work in a hair salon and that's all we really believe inWhats the best straighteners in these stores ?
well a chi is $100 but a remington wet2straight is BETTER and its a LOT cheaper. dont waist ur money on a CHI. and plus u can straighten ur hair when it is wet with the Wet2Straight. btw that person does NOT work in a hair salon! She is just saying that so u will listen to her. they dont use those kinds of straightners at salons. u can get both at Target.
remington wet2straight is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so cheap!! and amazing!!
I Don't think Sally's beauty supply will match your budget
I have the Remington brand! it is the best to me i have had it for 18 years.

What are the best straighteners that are cheap?

Im a dude, new to the whole straightener thing, and i gots sort of wavy hair and want it too look like Luis Fonsi, or Zac Effron style.

But i am not willing to spend 50+ dollars on a straightener ,20- 30 dollars would be good.

So helppppp!! pleaseWhat are the best straighteners that are cheap?

sure there are some good ones out there for $20 - $30 but not the best...

just make sure you get a ceramic one or it will take forever to heat up and will be shitty
Conair or revlon..but make sure its like 1 inch or something..you can buy them cheap at a pharmacy or a grocery strore. like wal-mart or CVS
I went to the Philadelphia Outlets this weekend, and found a straightner called The Hair Styler. It can curl and straighten VERY easy, I got it for 125 dollars.

What is the best straighteners or shampoo or anything to put in a persons hair to make it not puffy AND frizzy

i have heard of chi straighteners.. but i like my wet2straight straightener. its ceramic so its actually good for ur hair and u can use it when ur hair is wet or dry. i love itWhat is the best straighteners or shampoo or anything to put in a persons hair to make it not puffy AND frizzy
To have beautiful hair, you not only have to use the right products for your hair, you need to know how to manage it. You didn't give details on your hair type, so I'll be assuming you have curly hair.

1. Wash: Don't wash hair too often because it will become dry. 2 or 3 times a week max. Comb it before washing to get rid of knots. Be gentle while scrubbing to avoid tangles.

2. Shampoo: Don't go against nature! If your hair is curly, use a shampoo for curly hair. Don't use one to make it ';sleek and straight';. Do use a conditioner for your type of hair too. For curly/wavy hair, try Redken's Fresh Curls. It's really good.

3. Leave-in treatment: A couple products that are fantastic: FHI Heat Hot Sauce and CHI Silk Infusion. Apply on damp hair.

4. Drying: don't comb your hair if it doesn't need to be, especially for curly hair (or use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers). This will allow the natural curls to reform and avoid frizz. Air-dry until hair is half dry. Then blow dry using your fingers until the hair is about 80% dry - keep the low setting so as not to destroy your natural curl patterns. Fully- or over-drying will make hair frizzy and dry. Tie it up until fully dry. If you want to achieve a straight look, use a flat iron (such as Sedu, GHD or any true ceramic or tourmaline flat iron) on the dry hair. Finish off with a little bit of serum on the length.

The key is to use products for your natural hair type, and not against it. Good luck! :)
scissors
Remmington wet to straight straightener works great and if you use a little bit of Garnier Fructis non-frizz serum when your hair's wet it should help a lot =]
maxiglide hair sraightener its better for frizzy hair than the chis are.

  • Where can you find the best straighteners and what brand are they?

i think conair makes the best hair straighteners. definatly get a ceramic one too! you can get them at target. i would get one that is about thirty-forty dollars. and lower than that and they start to get cheap and crappy.Where can you find the best straighteners and what brand are they?
The CHI is the best straightener, hands down. The only problem is that it's kinda expensive. But I think it's worth it. It doesn't catch your hair and it works quickly, even with damp hair. It's about $120 at Ulta.Where can you find the best straighteners and what brand are they?

GHDs every time, worth every penny, tried cheaper ones first and they were nowhere near as good esp if you have curly hair.

Wouldn't touch the wet to straight ones, if my hair is even slightly damp when straightening it smells awful of burning so god knows what fully wet hair would smell like,What are the best straighteners i should use?
GHD's quite expensive but you could look on ebay you may find them for cheaper or go into a local salon they are always updating their hair straightners and they may well sell them to you at a fraction of the cost
    GHD's they r expensive though

GHDs, they're quite expensive but well worth it! dont know what id do without mine

Like everyone else here. GHD. my hair is like yours.....a bloody pain in the butt, but with ghd its silky smooth and i love it. Its the best 拢100 i have ever spent on myself. i will always own a pair until my dying day!!!
    GHDs without a doubt...

there about 拢90.... so dont know if your looking in paying that much..

they are the best straightners around though and well worth the money!!

Iv had cheaper ones.. and they have worked but made my hair go really dry and split the ends...

    hope this helps x
I have think hair too that doesnt straighten with ghds but i used

Remmington wet to straight now normally they are really expensive

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Remington-S8200-鈥?/a>

but look there and they are 30 quid its ok price and they do really work
Wet to straight are a waste of time I slung mine in the bin. Save your hard earned pennies and get some good old GHD's and don't forget to use a thermal protector.
my hair sounds like yours, jhd wins hands down Ive had loads of different makes and now i wouldn't buy any other, they cost a fair bit but once its straightened it last until your hair needs washing worth every penny
My daughter insists on using GHD apparently everyone thinks theyr'e good
    Maxi Glide? By Maxius

    http://www.maxiusbeauty.com/
I think Ghd are the best straightners on the market, they are expensive with a starting price of approximately 拢80, however they are so worth saving up for.
If you want your hair to look good, dont worry about the money side just use GHD straighteners
i think you got your answer ghds but becareful they are very hot if you have used straightners before you need to keep going over your hair with these you dont can cause breakage if used to much always use a protective spay and use serum after to tame the frizz good luck my daughters have afro hair we understand fully the wet to dry dont work i am a hairdresser and we use the therm a glass ones at the moment around 40 pounds work for us but dont waste your money on cheaper ones
hi. im a hairdresser and without a doubt...ghd they are the the pro choice, they maintain a higher temp and your hair will stay straighter for longer, i know they are expensive but believe me they are worth it and you will not regret buying them,if you buy cheaper ones all you will do is go over your hair more times(not good)and it will snap off! just bite the bullet, honest you wont regret,i promise
    GHD
My daughter has thick, very curly hair and the GHD's work really well for her. The more time you take by working on small sections of hair the better and longer it lasts. This is good as you shouldn't straighten too often as it will affect your hair.
Defo, Ghd they straighten your hair dead good and it lasts coz my hair is well thick and they are the only straightners that straightin my hair iron flat.

    Hope dis helps!!!
    GHDs all the way...

They are slightly more expensive but well worth it. The others i tried (believe me there was a lot) Just frizzed my hair %26amp; broke it. As long as you use a hair protecter GHDs are the only way forward.
get a CHI straightening iron. they are on the expensive side but probably the best you can buy. plus, they come in loads of fun colors!

Best straighteners to purchase at target or walmart?

andis 1'; flat iron at walmart. it's like 15 bucks. don't ever buy any of the other brands they sell there unless it's a chi, sedu, solia, hai, ghd, or babyliss. you can read the reviews on amazon.com i really recommend the andis, you can curl, flip, straighten, wave, crimp, and spiral your hair. it's almost like the chi i have.Best straighteners to purchase at target or walmart?
Andis has great hair straighteners! You can get them at Target or Walmart, and they are usually just 20 or 25 dollars. I have had mine for a long time and never had to replace it, so they are good quality.

If you want good straightners ma your gonna have to pay up. I use these straightners called Babyliss pro and you would have sworn i came from the hairdresser. They also cost me 80.00 i bought them 3 yrs ago and its worth the investment. Try this website they have nice good irons not that cheap crap:

gold n hot hair straightener! the 2 inch, is only 20 bucks in a pharmacy store! u can find it anymore, really. i have frizzy hair too, and it works wonders. it comes out rly straight. the chi hair straightener is really good as well but its too much money, like over 100 dollars.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc
I got my Solia a few years back, it worked great for my hair (and my sister's hair too). Last August my sister went to a college in california, she took the Solia with her. Initially I wanted another Solia, but Jonna (my hair stylist) convinced me to get a Sedu. I did. Like Jonna said, Sedu is the best.

Now they have 2008 model (Sedu Revolution) , i can't wait to try it!
I like the Conair Infiniti. It works great and gets the job done fast. I would also suggest using BioSilk before hand. This will help keep the kink out and make it shiny and smelling awesome. Good luck!

I'd recommend no straights. Mixed race peoples (like me) are naturally the best looking in the world (if I say so myself). There's no need for adjustments work with it instead. Personally I love mixed girls and there hair when its natural. Its a look that can't be imitated.

I still use them now and the difference is fabulous! What are the best Straighteners for think hair and are cheap also i don't want them to be fake ?
I have a Chi and really thick hair..i use it almost daily and it still heats up in under 5 minutes....of course i straighten my hair in layers so that its even...especially on the backside of my head....but usually takes no more than 10 minutes....

    http://www.amazon.com/Farouk-CHI-Inch-Ce鈥?/a>

if you're not looking to spend a whole lot...you can get a decent straightener for a lot less..

    http://www.amazon.com/Remington-S-7900t-鈥?/a>

i would also like to suggest that you stay away from the big bulky walmart-specials....the plastic plates keep you from getting all the way to the scalp and thus leave sort of a hump on the backside of your head...
I love walmarts revlon straightener I have the white, but they also come in black and they are only $20.00 and I have very thick hair and it works great and its cheap...my cuz bought a 300.00 on from a salon and now she uses my cheapie cuz it works better!
I have thick hair and I use Hedkandy straighteners; they're amazing! I think mine cost about 拢50/60 but they came with beach accessories too, so it'd be slightly cheaper if you just got them separate :)
Check TJ Maxx or some other store of the sort--I got a $150 straightener there last year for $50 and it works like a dream.
i use remignton t-style...i got it 4rm target, and it works great!
    Ya man, get a Cortex!

    What are the best straighteners?

I need a new pair of straighteners and I want the best. But I don't know what the best is.What are the best straighteners?
GHD's - GHD is actually short for Good Hair Day.

They are also the most used straighteners in the hair industry.

Theres no difference between the black and pink just the colour. the pink ones were brought out for the breast cancer awareness month. i.e. if u buy a pair i think its like 10 pounds gets given to a breast cancer charityWhat are the best straighteners?
I honestly think GHD's are over-rated...because I have used them and I don't think the result is nearly as good as the straightner I have...the one I have I've had for about 3-4 years or so and it works the same as I got it from day 1!

it's a FHI .. I think mine cost about 100 - 200 bucks but im not sure coz my mum bought it for my birthday and i lovee it...it makes your hair like stick straight and works better than ones that are wayyy dearer...mines a pinkone ( i dont even like pink) but its the same as black just different colour....i personaelly dont reckomend GHD's there not worth it and you can get a better resuly for less money more quality and a better result :D

just type in FHI on google or something and you'll read about them and stuff...there not that common but beleive me you'll be happy you've bought them when you did...it heats your hair from the inside out goes up to 220 degress..and alot of straightners say that but they dont even go up to that temp its a lie my one doesnt it works heella goodd..

sorry I kept babbling on xD hehee

    xx.
I have really curly hair and i use Braun Satinliners. They are the best straighteners ive ever had. Ive had GHDs before and the Braun Satinliners are much better. Theyve got satin ions on them that realeses ions into you hair to make it so its not frizzy and makes it more glossy. When they first came out around a year ago they were £70 but there only around £30 now. I honestly swear by these there a lifesafer!

    Ill send you a link

    Hope i helped x
i went through many expensive straighteners searching for the ones which would properly straighten my hair. the best ever ones have to be GHD's. i can straighten them one day and it will still be straight the next. i was slightly worried about the price i was paying but they are a great investment!!
pink GHDs are better in my opinion.

CHIs are also really good, but i own a jilbere de paris and i love it.

any of the three i just listed is very good

japanese method. no heat involved, just the chemical solution simliar to perm solution but for straightening hair.
Ghd, Pink or original dosent make a difference, just how you want them to look :)

You can get purple ones too.
conair infiniti is awesome its better than chi and GHD and like half the cost
    CHI and coriolis
Buy one that you can use while your hair is still wet, I use Remington Wet to Straight and it works great.

Which are the best Straighteners to use on long hair?

I have real long hair down to my bum and my andrew collinge Straighteners never seem to work on my hair there is always a kink in my hair.

Which are the best straighteners to use and how much are they as i would love some for christmas so i can hint to the family lol.

Thanks all answers appreciated xxxWhich are the best Straighteners to use on long hair?
GHDsWhich are the best Straighteners to use on long hair?
Hi i have always used straighteners, My hair is half way down my back, Ill tell you what ive used and how much.

I bought a babyliss pro from priceline, was around $140, worked ok but not the best.

I bought a Wahl Cutek Titanium from priceline, cost around $130, that was excellent, that was what i had up until now,

But by far the best so far is my remington slimline ceramic, i just bought it from target for $39.95, about a month ago and it works as good if not better than any other straightener ive had. Comes with 2 year warranty too :-)

    Hope this helps.

GHDs are good, but not for their price. While i was doing my cert 4 in hairdressing, mine broke down 3 times. But when theyre working, they work great. Also, most straighteners that have the slimline plates will do curls, i always do curls with mine.
GHD. They only take 30 seconds to heat up, have all the features, and can do curls too. If you hair is really long you can get one with wider plates. They work really well, really quickly.

They cost about $250- $349. You can get them on eBay too for a lot less.

  • What are the best straighteners to get?

What straighteners do you find work best on your hair? GHD's?What are the best straighteners to get?
By far GHD's are the best. I don't own any myself but I sometimes use my friends'. I'm quite lucky in that my hair is naturally quite straight so I use Nicky Clarke hair straightners and my hair doesn't really kink until I next wash it. I found that Babyliss doesn't work too well, I found that it didn't get hot enough. What are the best straighteners to get?
I've got thick long hair, it's about 4 inches past my bra strap and I find with my GHD MK4s (IV styler),

even salons don't use the very thick ones. You can always have a look on

I use GHD's they come in three styles no the normal traditional thin ones, thick plated ones , and thinner platerd ones which are great for curling. i like the traditional style ones and you can get them in a variety of kits and colours. If they are too expensice try H2D's they are good quality change the temperature and from 170-210 degrees they are around 拢40 and come in thicker plated and traditional plate shapes.
definitely ghds. i spent years trying different cheaper straighteners because i didn't want to spend the money on ghds and none of them did a great job so i finally splurged the 拢100 and couldn't be happier with them!! :)

i think there's an offer thing at the moment where you get a free benefit 'justine case' makeup set with them too.

I absolutely love Sedu straighteners. Why?

    1) They have temperature settings up to 410

    2) They never snag or rip your hair, it goes down smooth all the way down.

    3) It makes my super curly hair pin straight.

    4) The iron is thin so it gets in all the grooves

    5) Its light weight.

I've been through a lot of straighteners and i like this one the best. I even found it better than my friend's chi straightener.
I bought some Remingtons for only 拢18. they're really good quality, and big enough that you can straighten a lot of hair at once, but small enough that you can carry them anywhere (they fit in most of my handbags). If you live in the uk they will be available in Boots, Superdrug.. etc for the same price.

Don't waste your money on GHDs, you're really only paying for the label which is ridiculous. xx
I'd say Sedu. I just got mine today and I bought the 1 1/2 inch. It was $119. My hair is reallyyy thick and coarse so it might be dependent on your hair type. I'm really happy though and love how it straightens my hair :) I've posted a video on youtube with a review if you want to check it out, I'll post another one tonight but this one is just my initial reaction to it.

    Hope I helped!!

    http://www.youtube.com/user/ThatBrownGir鈥?/a>
basically, any ceramic straightener will do.

but i do agree with the people above, GHD works really really well. my hair is naturally frizzy and wavy and when i used it my hair got almost stick straight and the frizzyness was all gone. so yeah, get GHD. hope i helped!
I have GHD kiss and I love love love them!! They are a life saver as they really work and don't damage your hair. (I always use protective spray though!) :-) x

ghd are good but more expensive but any good make cermamic ones will be good but always use a heat protective spray
ghds are the best, or theres this babyliss one that i though worked really well on my hair too, but ghds make your hair feel silkier
Coriorliss are alot lighter and they dont pull your hair as much as ghd's do, ive had both and i prefer corioliss. But thats just my opinion. hope i helped x

Which are the best straighteners for your hair?

Which straighteners are the ones that cause the least damage to your hair? I know all straighteners do, but I just want to know any makes/models that cause minimal heat damage but are still good,

ThanksWhich are the best straighteners for your hair?
I think the best way to get a straightener it to go to a salon because they will have the best kind for your hair. The more you spend the less they will damage your hair.Which are the best straighteners for your hair?
conair is good, you want a ceramic one and NOT METAL. also, one with a small comb attached to the side helps a lot.
A ceramic iron. The most important thing is to make sure your hair is completely dry before you use the iron. It would be best to wait a while after you blowdry. Also, try to get it as straight as possible w/ the blowdryer, that way it takes less work w/ the iron. You can also spray a protective spray before ironing it that is made to prevent damage and promotes shine.
babybliss products are the best w/ceramic so it heats up fast and stays hot... it goes up to 230 degrees and all you have to do is run it through dry hair (with maybe some mousse in it) for a second and its beautiful!
Chi is the most popular for preserving hair :)
CERAMIC HAIR IRONS ARE BEST!!! ....i cant say that enough to ppl:-)....THEY ARE AMAZING AND MAKE UR HAIR LOOK HEALTHIER THAN BEFORE I CANNOT BELIEVE IT ...i wouldnt be alive without mine!! lol..they are a little expensive but soo worth it i promise!! ...dont waste ur money on all those cheap irons from cvs and walmart....ceramic hair irons work on ANY TYPE OF HAIR..I HAVE THE THICKEST HAIR ON THIS PLANET ..for reall..and they results are amazing...it just bothers me that ppl dont believe me when i give them advice to buy a ceramic hair iron because they have already tried so many and they give up and strat saying the problem is with their hair!...u can probly order one from a salon or get it from sallys beauty supply :-)

hope i helped...plz take my advicee lol %26lt;3

Best straighteners that I can find in stores?

I currently have a Revlon one inch straigtener, and its not really working on my wavy hair. I mean, it works fine for my bangs, but not the rest of my hair.

Where can I get a really good, somewhat inexpensive hair straightener that will work on wavy hair?

My budget is 60$Best straighteners that I can find in stores?
You do not need a new straightener! You just need to use a thermal styling spray. That will really boost the straightening power of the iron and will protect your hair from damage. The good stuff is $12-$18, which I suggest. Matrix Sleek Looks makes a fabulous one and Kenra Platinum (what I use on my clients) is amazing. You can have a horrible straightener, but if you use the spray it will work great.Best straighteners that I can find in stores?
Honestly, your not going to find a really good one for 60$.

I have a metropolis hair straightner, it's the best one i've ever had, it's 140$ approx. It has an amazing warrenty (10 years), mine stopped working, so i took it to the store and they just took a new one off the shelf and replaced it right there, it was amazing. They will do that as many times as you need, as long as it wasn't your fault for breaking it of course. It was soooo worth the money!! Trust, Keeps hair straight in ANY weather

Chi is great, but if you're on a budget you can get a GVP at any Sally Beauty Supply store. They are pretty much just as great for half the price.
    Try a Chi.
The best straightener is Hai. I have really thick wavy hair as well and this gives me poker straight hair without it looking flat and dull. It's a little expensive but its top of the line and really works.
my straightner is really good and it is a conair and it only comes in red but its has a built in comb for thick hair, and there is a straightner that its name has wet in it but im not sure and i went to this place called ultra and it has this awesome straightner and i heard good reviews of its and it only comes in this orange stripes. CHI

What are the best straighteners with the best results but at a resonable price?

I have the wet to straight and it straightens your hair when its wet and it dries and straightens it..or you can also do it when your hair is dry!! It has 30 different temperatures it costs 25 dollars-30 dollars depending on the six you get!! It Worksreally well I Love it!

    Tips:

When you straighten your hair get a heat protectant spray so you wont get split ends

and the slower you bring the straightener across your hair the better it straightens it!!

I hope this helps!!What are the best straighteners with the best results but at a resonable price?
The Instyler is SO fab!! Besides straightening hair, it adds body and shine!!!!!! I don't really know how to describe how it looks, but I'll try.

It has a roating cilinder, and a comb, and it seperates each strand of hair.

Its used in Hollywood by proffesionals, and your going to FLIP when u hear the price... 15 DOLLARS!!!!!!!What are the best straighteners with the best results but at a resonable price?

What are the best straighteners for really thick, spiral curled hair... that damages it the least?

I have REALLY REALLY thick naturally curly hair. I need a straightener and hair products that will help to not damage it.

Thanks in advance!!What are the best straighteners for really thick, spiral curled hair... that damages it the least?
I use a ceramic flat Iron. DO NOT get one of the cheap ones, you'll just get frustrated and upset ( Ive bought 5!). The ones with the temperatures on the dial (100degrees to 450degrees) are the best, as opposed to the ones that just have levels( like 1-10). Ceramic won't cook your hair so its less damaging. Also, if you run a heat resistant comb through it as you are straightening it, it will work better and faster. If you don't comb it, it will just flatten the kinks, and cause it to frizz. Using an anti-friz serum works too, but it leaves my hair feeling heavy. I hope that helps! What are the best straighteners for really thick, spiral curled hair... that damages it the least?
well all straighteners will damage your hair get a ceramic one its the best for your hair and dont get the straightener that say you can use them on wet hair they make the ends of your hair really dry and split! get the biggest straightener you can find the little dinky ones wont help you as well!! just use conditioner and put a lot of leave in conditioner in your hair good luck

will you do me a favor and go to........http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
All hair straighteners damage your hair, even the ceramic ones. use a heat protector spray and use your curling iron twice a week only
i have a lot of hair and it's curly too. so i use a ceramic straightner. i would make sure the iron is thick, the place where you place your hair. cuase if it's too narrow, it won't work. and it'll take forever.
The wet to strait ones thoes work great 4 thick hair.
you can use a leave in cream to protect your hair when you use a flat iron on it. something such as sunsilk-straighten up, or the tresemme heat protectant spray.

i have a curlmaster 1'; (2'; will work, but the smaller the iron, the straighter the hair), it was fairly inexpensive but it does the job perfectly. also, if you do decide to buy a straightener, go ceramic. it does the least damage to your hair. I would not suggest getting a wet-dry straightener, if you try to straighten your hair while it is wet, it can actually boil the water inside your hair causing further damage!

What are the best straighteners for curly thick hair?

what straightner really works and doesnt make your hair look like its completely damaged? What are the best straighteners for curly thick hair?
I use a Remington straightener, the box says ';Wet 2 Straight.'; I got it at Target for $35.00! My hair is insanely curly and with this straightener it literally never EVER takes longer than 5-10 minutes to do my hair. What are the best straighteners for curly thick hair?
Ceramic flat irons are best....also, if blow-drying, leave a slight amount of conditioner or leave-in in your hair. Always, always moisturize before adding heat, be it oil, pomades, or moisturizing conditioners, etc.
i have the bed head straightener and it works so good. people at school ask me if i use a chiall the time. its not expensive either
chi, its around $100 but def. gets the job done.
    Sedu.
maxi glide and chi but they can both get expensive for cheaper but still rele good remmington. remmington makes one for wet hair but nvr straighten ur hair while wet it does twice as much dammage
CHI straighteners are good, and if it's a little more expensive than the average, its bc it works better!

if your hair is curly and thick, put it on the highest heat setting.

What are the best straighteners for me?

I currenly have a set of babyliss ones which go up to 210 degrees. I have curly hair so it takes ages to straighten. I want some that at hopefully under 拢50 but a max of 拢70 if they do need to be. What are the best ones I could get? What are the best straighteners for me?

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/Flat-Iron/SBS-680604,default,pd.html?cgid=Hair09-06

that goes up to 390 degrees.

Hey :) ghd's are apparently very powerful, but also quite expensive.

I personally have relatively straight hair so just use remington.

Try getting some which get hotter :) x

What are the best straighteners around?

I have quite thick, loosely curly hair that can be curlier depending on its mood. I'm interested in purchasing a straightener, since my current twenty dollar crappy conair one does almost zilch for my hair. My friend has a really, really nice one, but I want to know what some out there are that are under or around a hundred dollars. What are your experiences with BedHEad and Conair straighteners? Or are there other, ebtter brands? What are the best straighteners around?
ghd. they heat up so quickly, and the Ceramic plates give a lovely smooth finish, they are so versatile to, as you can use them to curl your hair. but they are pricey, but they will last you a life timeWhat are the best straighteners around?
my hair is just like what you are describing.

I have Tresseme jade starightening irons.

They are very good and go up to 200

I bought mine off ebay and payed about 拢25 which in dollars is a bit more but if you buy them brand new they will probably cos around 拢50

sorry but i dont know how much that is in dollars!
GHD's definetly they make your hair feel smooth and last the longest they cost around 150 pounds.
Chi straightner! But be careful! If you leave it on your hair for too long you will burn it off!
Go to a hair shop and buy one its like 200 dollars though
    babyliss
Chi - hands down the best! They are expensive, but they last a long time and they work SO good!

GHDs have changed my hair forever. I always have trouble getting straight hair with any other straighteners, but since getting a pair of GHD straighteners, i have always had nice straight hair.

    definatley GHD's
GHD's r the ONLY str8ners that do the job!! they can b pricey but well worth the investment....i dont know how i managed wivout mine!!
The make I have is Giani, they have variable heat settings going up to 200c,they are certainly the best ones I've had,got them on ebay, brand new for about 拢8 .
we ve been told by the wife's hairdresser the ones they use forgot the make but when she comes in i ll edit it on for you? mind you Ive not forgot the price there only 拢120.00 a pop.....nearly choked when she told me,mind you i would have choked her if she d bought a pair?
    ghd defo
    ghd straighteners are the best
    ghd
ghds...yeh they're expensive but i honestly think they are the best on the market. most hairdressers use them. for thick hair try the salon styler ghds...they have wider plates. i have them and they're amazing.
Try Babyliss 230 they have them in pink and black, I find that they're just as good as ghd's but less pricey.
Okay...this is a very simple question, LOL! Well all of my friends have thick hair, while some have really thin hair but we all use the same straightner and trust me this is the Best. Its called the CHI, i know its really expensive but its better than getting a $20 one like every 3 months because the one from Target and other stores like that just burn your hair, trust me i know. I like went to this really good salon and they were like ';What straightner do you use?'; and i told the Conair, and they like freaked out. So yeah CHI is the best, your hair will look FANTASTIC!!
CHOICE magazine, a magazine that tests products for consumers without advertising or bias, independently rated the ghd original straightener as best overall, for all hair thicknesses and lengths.

In my opinion, the Silver Bullet Manhattan rates a close second, with wider plates (useful for thicker hair) and adjustable temperatures.
Kodo straighteners are better for thick hair. They have thin plates like the GHD, but the plates are heavier, which makes them work way better on thick hair. Of course what works even better is straightening in sections rather than all at once.

Ive the same hair as you and use the KODO straighteners everyday. My hair looks at lot less thick and is much easier to handle and never frizzes
ones that dont burn your neck
After my daughter spending pots of my money all I can say is buy the best!GHD's the cost a few quid (拢100) but they also give you good after sales service if they break down!(Even if the warranty has run out too!)
ghd's are definitel the best i have ever used on short and long hair

Best Straighteners to buy in store or salon?

I'm looking for a 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch straightener that I could buy in store. I have about $70 that I could spend. And I want a ceramic one. Any suggestions?

Oh by the way how much is a straightner worth at the salon?Best Straighteners to buy in store or salon?
Chi's are supposed to be really good and they used to cost about 100 somthing but they've gone down.

I use one i Bought at Target. The Brand is called Remington and it gets up to 430 degrees. I think i only spent about 40-50 for it, and it works really well. But be careful because some times at 430 it can cause your hair to frizz. I usually keep it at about 390.

Also a plus, it beeps when its ready so your not constantly picking it up to see if its hot yet. Takes about 3 min for me, 4-5 if you go up to 430.Best Straighteners to buy in store or salon?
GHD is by far the best straightener out there. But it is over double your price range.

CHI seems to be right in your budget.

It's a very good straightener and many people out there swear by it. But after about a year or so, it doesn't do it's job quite as good.

Another good straightener would be a SEDU.

At salons I think that they raise the price more.

I know that at mine they sell the CHI for about $125 when I could get it online for a fraction of the price.

folica.com is a great place to further your research about hair straighteners. They have reviews and sell them for the best prices I have seen so far.
I may not know the price but my salon uses the BEST straightener ever :) The name is HARDCORE and it rocks, i cant say anything bad except it takes a while to heat up and don't burn yourself at 410 degrees... Hope that helps

What are the best straighteners for men?

I looking for the best straighteners for short hair, money not really an issue as long as not above £150.What are the best straighteners for men?
GHD (Good Hair Days) are easily the best straighteners I've ever known. You can get thin, regular or wide plates, and discounts if you order direct from the GHD website. I have male friends with short hair who use the thin plates. I too have short hair now, but find my medium plates work fine.

I ordered my last pair of GHDs from the website, got a discount, freed delivery, and free stuff sent with them. They arrived in good time, perfect condition and were recorded delivery. What are the best straighteners for men?

ghds are great for shorter hair, my nan has short hair like a boys and ghds work great for her, theyre around about £100 I think
Depending on the type of your hair. If you want to spend just below £150, get a CHI, GHD or Remington straighteners:

But a some good quality hair straighteners. Remington hair straighteners are really good. And you can change the temperature on them too. Make sure that you also buy some heat protection spray to protect your hair from burning. I would recommend Tresseme heat protection spray it is really good. all straighteners are hot things that iron hair and damage it :] variety makes little difference there. buy some heat protect serum and make sure she uses it before she straightens every time. and never straighten it unless its fully dry, even with them wet to straight ones. does your hair -no- good.

Any suggestions and where can i get them? What is the best straighteners for thick hair?
HairArt is the best. It works rly well, it can straighten, curl, and flip your hair. Don't get Chi or GHD, I'm serious they last for a month and then they don't work or the plate brakes. Don't get a Bedhead they make your hair smell like plastic and don't work on my hair. I have rly, rly thick wavy/curly hair. HairArt is the only flat iron that works on my hair.

P.S. A flat iron is like 2 in 1. It can curl and straighten your hair.

http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a鈥?/a>What is the best straighteners for thick hair?
For thick hair I would suggest GHD's as they're superior to most other brands. You could try ebay for a 2nd hand pair.

Otherwise, I find that Vidal Sassoon ones are pretty good.

Basically, shop around and look on the box that the straighteners come in and see what their maximum temperature is, the hotter they are, the better they straighten.
you need to spend more money really, i would suggest saving all your christmas money aswell or anyway saving up and getting the thick style ghds. you will be really pleaseeed! no more bushy or annoying hair :) most hairdressers sell them, or get them from the ghd site, your hairdresser can probably let you know the best ones for around 拢50 though

  • What are the best straighteners/flat irons to use on relaxed afro hair?

I have mixed race (black %26amp; white) hair and relaxed it a month ago, it's really thick so I need a good pair of straighteners to keep it sleek, I'm just wondering which flat irons/straighteners are the best? What are the best straighteners/flat irons to use on relaxed afro hair?
Well, try CHI or GHD. But to have your hair straightened the way you want, sleek for long you will have to: first blow dry your hair, using a round brush and a hand hair dryer, from the roots, until tips, just to make hair medium-loose. Only after you can pass a flat iron on your hair, strand by strand, but not many times. Dont forget to make deep conditioning treatments with masks, to keep hair healthy and the right ones will make it smoother. Cheers. What are the best straighteners/flat irons to use on relaxed afro hair?
The Maxius hair straightener is great. Unlike typical flat irons, one side of this straightener has a ';comb'; like surface that grips your hair. It also uses steam which keeps your hair hydrated. I've used this straightener for over 3 years now, there's nothing like it. It works on every type of hair, every race, every texture.

There's infomercials about this product on TV all the time, but if you can't catch one, here's a website that's selling it for a reasonable price. Don't waste your time or cash on anything else!! I'm certain you'll like this straightener. :)

    www.folica.com

    Search for ';Maxiglide by Maxius Hair Straightener';
you probably need a pressing comb if you relaxed it and its still an afro, heat up the comb on the stove, rub it on a white paper towel, if it burns the towel its too hot and will burn ur hair, grease ur scalp, part ur hair in small sections, comb through the section slowly, turn ur wrist so the hair bends over the back part of the comb (the part with no teeth) and sandwich the hair between a folded up hand towel (not a washcloth)
In addition to the answers here, you'll find a lot of good reviews and recommendations in the ';Pressing'; section of the Black Hair Media Forum. You really should check it out, they have a lot of great information on flat irons and hot combs for all kinds of african american hair:

I have had a lot of straighteners and the best one to me is the paul mitchell smoother. It is made very well and last very long. A lot of people like the chi but as the years have gone by chi has stopped making them in a good quality. They have had a lot of trouble with them being returned due to varies reasons. As far as products paul mitchell's skinny serum, chi iron guard, and matrix also has a ton of heat protectors. I would have to say GHS which are just as good as GHD but half the price. I normally buy Nicki Clarke but accidentally broke them and had to burrow a friends ones which were babyliss (they were rubbish), I decided that I had to buy a new pair and was originally going to buy GHD but same problems as you I wasn't made of money. So I went online and came across this website and found the most up to date in technology air straighteners (HS+Tourmaline). The good thing is that if you are not happy they will provide a full refund so I purchased them and have been really happy since, the best hair straighteners I have ever had. The good thing is that they look funky with different coloured plates and you also get free gifts (free hair clips , tail comb, safety mat and travel pouch). And the shocking thing is this will only cost you 拢39.99. This was the best investment I've made and I have been straightening my air for over 8 years and only brought these straighteners about 4 months ago.

just got some nicky clarke from boots on offer from 拢50. to 拢25.

    plus you get boot points.

i have thick curly hair and these are great as long as she doesnt try to put alot of hair in the straighteners.

    hope this helps
I bought Babyliss crimpers which not only crimp, but at a flick of a switch, straighten. Oh, how I wish there was some kind of hair-straightening drug!
    GHD they are the best
GHD's are the best! Ive had the same pair for 3 years and they still look as good as new and havent conked out on me! My sis opted for the cheaper versions from Boots and is on about her 4th pair, they keep breaking. Id go the extra mile and spend that little bit extra seeing as she is your sis. You may get a good deal on line or from ebay! They have come down in price since they first came out!
I use corioliss pro straighteners and they are fantastic.(you can get them in pink) which is good for the girly girls. But i'm not sure how much they are I got mine off of ebay and they weren't that much. They've also lasted me about a year so far. I bought them because I couldn't afford GHD prices and corioliss are just as good.
I have always used a GHD and think they are fantastic... but I have just bought a 'Turbo Ion Ceramic Iron' to keep as a spare at my boyfriends house for when I stay there. It was half the price of my GHD but is as good, if not better.

It has a temp control, so you can choose how hot you want it, a feature that GHD's don't have. Its the same size and you can do all the same things with it. I have curly hair and I can get it dead straight in no time. It has super shiny plates which I have found actually makes my hair shinier.

Definately check them out, I thought I would always prefer GHD's but this is proving to be pretty tough competition.
lol my hair is thick and wavy to and I think all the other little straighteners are kind of useless apart from vidal sasson maximum they are ace! they have got not just two areas to do your hair in but have got three sticking out bits, you no three hot bits and they have a fine ,medium and thick heating setting they are wicked! p.s ghd are good but they damaage the hair shaft I should know I am a hair stylist! xxx
Conair flatiron from walmart and buy some garneir fructis!
Your right, you can't get better than GHDs. They're cheaper on a site called lookfantastic.com i think. You can also try getting 'futura' straighteners from salons, which some stylists use instead of GHDs. I had a pair for ages and they turned out to be much more reliable than the GHDs and were only about 45. You might have to shop around though!
everyone says that ghds are the best but i have chs and i think they are better good luck (they are cheaper too!!!!)
