Best straightener/curler?

I am looking for a new straightener. I want one that can curl and straighten ( so like a 1 inch). I dont want my hair to be damaged or to smell burnt afterwards, and I want it to be able to with stand humidity after i straighten it. I have been looking at reviews but this just confuses me even more because on person says its great and another person says it sucks... Please give me your opinion on the best straightener for me, or the best one in your experience...Best straightener/curler?
i have the cortex and its da best. it doesn't give me split ends, heats up really quick and it works really well.Best straightener/curler?
I use Chi %26amp; it works really well, I've heard that GHD is good also but these two are pretty expensive

i bought a 30 dollar Remington brand one (target) made with tourmaline plates and it works super good! i really don't think the results really have to do with the straightener, but with the products you use. i use Paul Mitchel super skinny serum and 1 pump of it is enough for all of my hair. i have medium length hair.
