What is the best straightener for my hair type?

I have very course, thick, dry african american hair. I have a CHI, but it is broken and my warranty is up. It worked okay.. I was wondering if there was anything better for my hair type? The key thing is that it gets very very hot. Any ideas.What is the best straightener for my hair type?
Hello :-) Yes! There IS something better out there for your hair...

Here is some advice i have given girls looking for a good one:

'; I have been researching hair straighteners for like 3 months. (Yes, really!) You need to decide for yourself but the top brands seem to be: Sedu and ghd. I know you may have NEVER heard of ';Sedu'; because it is sold exclusively through the world's largest online beauty store. Folica.com

You need to look for one with:

*** Toumaline technology (hair naturally produces positive ions, but toumaline produces extra negative ions and therefore smooths the hair cuticle and means less damage is done)

*** So look for a ceramic (NOT cermaic coated, it has to be all ceramic) plate straightener with Tourmaline infused into the plates.

I e-mailed ghd and they do NOT use toumaline (t-or-ma-line). Also they do not have adjustable heat settings so it remains at a constant high temperature which is NOT good for all hair types.

***So look for adjustable temperature.

*** A good straightener (or ';flat iron';) goes to minimum 200 degrees Celcius.

*** A swivel cord so that it doesn't get tangled and annoy you while straightening.

Check out Sedu straighteners at http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1/a> ';

You should try it. 30 day money back gaurentee! (And like a 2 year Warranty, I think) Go to the website and read some EXCELLENT reviews of people (like you) saying their hair is just super-curly or ethnic, or African American etc... and the Sedu straightener works! (Go and have a look at the pictures these girls have sent in of 'Before' and 'After' - they are AMAZING!

All the best and I hope this helps you on your quest for a new straightener! :-) Oh - I have thick, curly, and fine (often frizzy) blonde hair, but it is kind of the same as what you described your hair to be and I'll probably get one of these straighteners.What is the best straightener for my hair type?
Wow you are my twin sister! I have thick african-american hair just like you. The Chi Iron does work I also use a flat iron too. I have thick and a bit dry scalp too. You use Motions moose sometimes, you use olive oil sometimes, you can use detangeler too, and guess what I'm tenderheaded a bit too. I understand ';twin sister'; that is does get hot but you do what you need to do to get it strait. You can firstly use the blowdryer first too. My name is Ty W go to my profile page and e-mail me! We got a whole lot to talk about ';twin sister!';

Hey!

I have really thick coarse hair too. just use the right products and your hair will be better in about a month if you stick to the program!

it all starts with the shampoo and conditioner!

use Sun silk straight shampoo and conditioner..then every 2-3 days use the sun silk hydra TLC mask and leave it in for about 5min. then after you get out of the shower use Bio silk serum and sun silk straight cream blow dry and straighten.

my advice would be to buy another CHI straightener. i have one and could not live without it.

Also another tip: only straighten your hair on days you have to. if your just staying home all day and not going anywhere don't worry about straightening it. your just frying your hair for no reason.

i hope i helped :)
I have thick %26amp; curly, i use Wetline Pro and it works really great (i have it for about 8 months). They have one that is called the Turbo - which is the strongest, so I believe it would be the best for you.
