Best Straighteners to buy in store or salon?

I'm looking for a 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch straightener that I could buy in store. I have about $70 that I could spend. And I want a ceramic one. Any suggestions?

Oh by the way how much is a straightner worth at the salon?Best Straighteners to buy in store or salon?
Chi's are supposed to be really good and they used to cost about 100 somthing but they've gone down.

I use one i Bought at Target. The Brand is called Remington and it gets up to 430 degrees. I think i only spent about 40-50 for it, and it works really well. But be careful because some times at 430 it can cause your hair to frizz. I usually keep it at about 390.

Also a plus, it beeps when its ready so your not constantly picking it up to see if its hot yet. Takes about 3 min for me, 4-5 if you go up to 430.Best Straighteners to buy in store or salon?
GHD is by far the best straightener out there. But it is over double your price range.

CHI seems to be right in your budget.

It's a very good straightener and many people out there swear by it. But after about a year or so, it doesn't do it's job quite as good.

Another good straightener would be a SEDU.

At salons I think that they raise the price more.

I know that at mine they sell the CHI for about $125 when I could get it online for a fraction of the price.

folica.com is a great place to further your research about hair straighteners. They have reviews and sell them for the best prices I have seen so far.
I may not know the price but my salon uses the BEST straightener ever :) The name is HARDCORE and it rocks, i cant say anything bad except it takes a while to heat up and don't burn yourself at 410 degrees... Hope that helps
