I've had mine for four years and it still works like it did the first day. I have thick wavy hair and live in Florida (hello humidity) and my hair is stick straight after i use it and stays that way.
It reaches up to 450 degrees and has a dial to control the temperature if you want to use a lower setting. Just make sure to use a heat treatment on your hair before you use any iron otherwise it will dry out and break and frizz.
